 Welcome to Module 5, Meditation Practices. 

In this module, you’ll learn three short, simple meditation practices designed and chosen specifically for public speakers.

 In this module, you’ll learn three short, simple meditation practices designed and chosen specifically for public speakers. 

These practices can help you shift your nervous system away from feelings of anxiety and fear before you present. With regular practice, you can use these techniques to find a more calm, grounded presence so you can take stage with confidence.

 

NOTE:  After viewing this module, be sure to download the PDF worksheet. Review the meditation practices you learned in the Module 5 videos and plan how you will apply them. 

 

 In this module, you’ll learn:

  • How to become more mentally resilient. Yoga for Public Speaking focuses on expanding a speaker's toolkit to deal with anything that could arise coming up to and during a presentation.
  • What and how to engage with what we call "meta awareness" or "witness consciousness."

  • How to immediately shift your attention out of the future, or the past, or worrying, and into the Here and the Now.

After this module, we will begin to notice that there is a choice in what feelings we pay attention to in our bodies. We don't have to chase every feeling. We don't have to be captivated by every fear.

 

 

We can notice it, acknowledge it, and then shift our energy in another direction.

 

These three meditation techniques can help you ride the wave of the energies that come with public speaking. Practice these as often as you can and you will develop muscle memory to be present with yourself and your audience.
